Join a growing team in a varied role combining software development, database work and local IT support. You’ll work alongside senior developers and business colleagues to improve internal applications, resolve technical issues and contribute to the future migration of legacy systems to modern platforms.

The role

• Develop, maintain and enhance internal front-end applications.

• Write, optimise and debug T-SQL queries, stored procedures and functions.

• Troubleshoot application and local IT issues, resolving problems or escalating where needed.

• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Create and execute test cases, and maintain technical documentation and user guides.

• Support the development of a trainee developer and provide technical assistance to the local facilities team.

About you

You’ll bring hands-on VBA experience gained through academic study, an internship or professional work, alongside a solid understanding of relational databases and T-SQL. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and clear communication will help you succeed, as will an eagerness to learn new languages and frameworks.

Relevant knowledge and experience include:

• VB.NET development and Git version control.

• Data modelling, schema design and database normalisation.

• Basic UI/UX principles.

• PowerShell or Python scripting and automation.

• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other reporting tools.

• An understanding of finance, the funds industry or general business processes.
